The 3-1/2 Inch Hunter Douglas Shutter Hidden Tilt Bar Rear Joiner is for connecting the plantation shutter tilt bars. Moreover, the connector is made for connector spaces 3-1/2 (3.5) inches away from one another. Furthermore, the hidden rear tilt bar connector is common in Hunter Douglas plantation shutters.
Not compatible with older style connector.
If used as a replacement for the older style connectors, the entire section of connectors will need to be replaced since the old and new pieces are not compatible with one another.
